Deputy Manager

We require an enthusiastic Deputy Managers that are committed in providing the best possible supportive and nurturing environment for our young people. Somebody that continually looks to improve the standards of the Home and their personal development along with those around them. Good communication and IT skills, a strong sense of leadership and ability to teach, motivate and cultivate a positive and dynamic environment for our young people is essential. The candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the guidance in relation to the management of the home as per the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

The Deputy Manager will ensure that staff follow the therapeutic model within the home by offering excellent emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, and a comfortable and safe home environment. All services will be planned and provided to the highest of levels to all young people while using a multi-agency approach.

As the Deputy Manager you will support the Registered Manager in:

  • The development of the new home and day to day running of the homeT

  • Involvement in the tendering, referral and placement process

  • Staff recruitment, management/ Supervision and professional development

  • Maintaining a high standard of care /support is maintained at all times in accordance with quality standards including all supporting documentation relating to this care

  • Ensuring that the best possible outcomes are achieved for the young people placed with us

  • safeguarding children and young peopleLeadership in

 

The Deputy Manager will be on rota and work as part of a team, with sleep in requirements (paid separately).

Qualifications

We require and individual with a minimum Diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care working with children and young people in a residential setting (or equivalent).

The candidate MUST have experience working with children and young people within care or with looked after children for a minimum of three years and have worked in a supervisory capacity for a minimum of two years.

​

The candidate must have a driving license and be able to provide two work references and character reference and have a clear DBS for working with children.
